Stephen Twining [1438] ^{1 2}

Stephen , son of William (2) Twining , was born at Eastham , February 6, 1659 , and died at Newtown, Pennsylvania , February 18, 1720 . He moved to Pennsylvania with his father in 1695 and owned eight hundred acres of land in Bucks county , besides considerable property in his native town. He was appointed overseer and elder in the Society of Friends, May 7, 1713 , and April 12, 1715 . He was a leading member of the society, and their meetings were held at his house. He married, at Eastham , Abigail , daughter of John and Abigail Young , of Eastham .
