General Notes: In 1805 John Martin Shuey came with his family in flat boats down theOhio River to Cincinnati, thence to the Miami Valley, settling nearGermantown, where both he and his wife remained until their deaths.Martin Shuey was a private in Capt. Casper Stover's 3rd Company, 2ndBattalion, Lancaster County Militia, in 1780 and 1782. Noted events in his life were: • He served in the military between 1780 and 1782 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. 2 John married Margaret Elizabeth Conrad [1106] [MRIN: 502], daughter of George Conrad [1252] and Maria Margaret Walborn [1253], on 15 Aug 1779 in Tulpehocken, Berks County, Pennsylvania.1 2 3 (Margaret Elizabeth Conrad [1106] was born on 4 Jul 1761 in Stouchburg, Berks County, Pennsylvania 3 7 and died on 5 Jan 1838 in Germantown, Montgomery County, Ohio 3.) |
