Reference in Massachusetts archive: "Browning, George 3d., Captain15th Co., Colonel Edward Pope's (2nd Bristol Co.) regt. list ofofficers of Mass. militia; commissioned April 26, 1776; reported chosen in place of Thomas Lyon." Reference in Massachusetts archive: "Davis, Aaron. 2nd Lieutenant,Capt. Thomas Lyon's (15th) co., 2nd Bristol Co. regt.; list ofoffiicers of Mass. militia, as returned by Colonel Edward Pope andother officers of said regiment, dated April 5, 1776; ordered inCouncil April 26, 1776, that commissions be issued; reported commissioned April 26, 1776; also 2nd Lieutenant, Capt. George Browning, 3d's co.; return dated July 9, 1776, made by Col. Edward Pope, of officers chosen by 15th co., 2nd Bristol Co regt." Reference in Massachusetts archive: "Lyon, Thomas, Milton. Private Capt. Oliver Voce's (Vose's) Milton co., Col.
