Thomas Lyon may be the ancestor of Clarissa Shieffield (103) & SamualWilliam Sloan (102) who are the parents of Clara Elisabeth Sloan(#47). Reference in Massachusetts archive: "Browning, George 3d., Captain15th Co., Colonel Edward Pope's (2nd Bristol Co.) regt. list ofofficers of Mass. militia; commissioned April 26, 1776; reported chosen in place of Thomas Lyon." Reference in Massachusetts archive: "Davis, Aaron. 2nd Lieutenant,Capt. Thomas Lyon's (15th) co., 2nd Bristol Co. regt.; list ofoffiicers of Mass. militia, as returned by Colonel Edward Pope andother officers of said regiment, dated April 5, 1776; ordered inCouncil April 26, 1776, that commissions be issued; reported commissioned April 26, 1776; also 2nd Lieutenant, Capt.
