• He worked as a grist miller at Stoney Cove in Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. 2

• He worked as a tanner in Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. 2

• Military: Capt of the militia, Jun 1675, Yarmouth, Massachusetts. 2 Capt Gorham and twenty-five men of Yarmouth "took up their first march for Mount Hope" during the King Philip's War. In October he was appointed captain of the second company of the Plymouth Colony militia and engaged in the Swamp Fort campaign.
