He was born December 30, 1957, in Charlottesville, and was the son of the late Elvin Graves Jr.

Keith was a 1976 graduate of Madison County High School, and a 1980 graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. He was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. Keith was a lifelong farmer, while also being employed by Oak Hill L.L.C. He was a past president and treasurer of the Madison County Young Farmers.

Keith is survived by his wife, Susan Walker Graves of Madison; his mother, Sandra A. Graves of Madison; his children, Ashton A. Graves and Sara-Margaret Graves of Madison; a sister, Jackie Sue Graves of Madison; and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr.'s Robert Pritchard and Gordon Morris and their staff for their care.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Hebron Lutheran Church, with interment at the church cemetery. Pastor Karen Taylor will officiate.

The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison.
